This class gives students the foundation needed to speak and write correctly. Through listening, speaking, reading, writing and games, complex grammar structures are simplified. This is the class that will give you more knowledge of the English language than a native speaker!

Top Notch

Top Notch integrates the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing with the goal of building students' ability to express themselves freely and fully in English. In a Top Notch class, students will learn common American expressions and slang related to daily parts of life like work, family, travel, music, and more.

Business English

Designed for students with professional experience and goals, the Business English course covers both language and cultural topics. From resume writing to giving a successful presentation, students will be immersed in the idioms, writing styles, and rules of etiquette of American business people.

Public Speaking

Do you have a fear of speaking in front of groups or love to be the center of attention? Either way, public speaking is right for you! Through constant practice, this course will build your confidence and give you new ways to get people to pay attention. Your skills will improve by analyzing and discussing great speakers, telling jokes, learning to give a persuasive argument and creating formal speeches of your own.

College Writing Preparation

To prepare for the demanding requirements of American colleges and universities, this class is a necessity. After a review of basic sentence and paragraph structures, your essay writing skills will be perfected. Various other writing skills and styles will be introduced as students write in response to film and readings and research topics at the local library.

Enrichment Courses

English enrichment courses at Target ISC give students a chance to improve their language skills through a variety of electives such as Current Events, Pronunciation Workshop, Journaling, Introduction to American culture, Vocabulary Building and others.

TOEFL Preparation

Target's TOEFL preparation program gives students the skills they'll need to meet the demands of this test. Test-taking strategies, practice tests, evaluation of sample essays and speaking responses, as well as thorough practice in skill-building exercises, are all part of the course.

TESOL Certification (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

This is Target's teacher training course, for those who want to become teachers of English as a second language. Our program gives you a TESOL certificate that you can use to get a job both in America and abroad.
